The Position

St John of God Hawkesbury District Health Services is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW providing acute community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. 

Hawkesbury Special Care Nursery is a Level 3A, 6 bed nursery caring for neonates born from 34 weeks gestation and neonates transferred from Neonatal Intensive Care Units requiring ongoing care and support in preparation for discharge home. 

Opportunities are available for experienced Registered Nurses to join our collaborative and caring team in the Special Care Nursey. 

If you are a Registered Nurse who wants to be a vital member of the multi-disciplinary health care team who collaboratively strives to deliver excellent care to clients and their families within the Special Care Nursery, then we could love to hear from you! 

Postgraduate qualifications and experience in Neonatal Special Care Nursing is essential.

This is a rare opportunity to practice alongside a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team in achieving the best outcomes for our patients and clients of the Hospital. 

Permanent Full and Part time positions are available with either / and Rotating Roster or Permanent Night Shifts available

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Nurse and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Postgraduate qualifications and experience in Neonatal/ Special Care Nursing.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the Unit/ Department speciality.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to organise workloads, prioritise, delegate and meet timelines.
  • Knowledge of and experience in risk management and quality improvement.
  • Well-developed skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer care and customer service.
  • Basic computer literacy.
