The advertisement is aimed at filling a number of permanent vacancies. It will also serve to create a pool of successful applicants for temporary vacancies (up to 12 months) and short term relief periods (up to 13 weeks) to cover secondments, annual leave and other types of leave as they arise.
The Zone Manager is responsible for the staff and operations of a Zone, typically managing over 100 staff and a budget starting at $10m.
- Lead and direct all Ambulance operations within your zone, ensuring the highest levels of service are delivered;
- Lead, coach and develop your staff including volunteers, on all aspects of Ambulance operations;
- Assist in the development of strategies and programs to improve the operational efficiency of your zone, through astute financial and operational management, and the adoption of global best practice methodologies;
- Collaborate closely with your peers and partners to maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as local health districts, emergency services and community groups;
- Maintain a responsive, future focused and contemporary organisational culture which supports staff to deliver true excellence in patient care;
- Critical to your success will be your ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team to be the very best within a highly challenging and demanding environment.
Employment Conditions:
- The successful applicant will be appointed under the terms and conditions of the Operational Ambulance Managers (State) Award and will be required to enter into the annual Performance Development Program.
- The successful applicant may be required to undertake duties at the other locations should the need arise.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory conduct and services check, which includes referee/supervisor check, a review of National Criminal Record Check, review of Service Check Register, a review of sick leave, ability to undertake full duties of the position and clearance from the Legal, Regulatory & Professional Standards Unit.
- The successful applicant will be responsible to the Deputy Director Clinical Operations for the management and supervision of a designated zone.
- NSW Ambulance accommodation and travel costs may be provided if deemed appropriate depending on where the applicant resides relative to the posting.
- An eligibility list will be established for future vacancies including temporary and relief positions.
